Get Techie in Paris

To many, Paris is a city of lights... to some, it's the city of love. But whatever the people refer Paris to, there's something more to Paris that just the 'City of Lights' or the 'City of Love'. It's even more than just a breathtaking view, a beautiful city, a tourist spot. It's  more than the food that people enjoy when they're in the city.

Like many other countries, culture is wrapped around Paris. It has a great touch of its history engraved in the hearts of the people. It also has a valuable influence on art which can be seen in different museums. Most of all, Paris has the soul for music. Whatever kind of music it may be, Paris can dance and prance to it.

One kind of music that beats in the pulses of Paris natives is Techno.

Every September, Paris celebrates what they call 'Techno Parade'. It is an event of loud and groovy techno music enthralled in music parades with more than 200 DJs doing their thing in mixing and playing techno music. Although this is a loud-and-proud event, this is one of the most celebrated in the city.

Techno Parade was created during 1998 wherein vehicles equipped with huge and loud speakers are paraded in the streets creating and producing loud techno music to promote the electronic culture. Since that first year of the Techno Parade, people from all over the globe are united increasing the attendance every year. This makes Techno Parade a world wide phenomenon that's truly been supported and loved by many.

This year, Techno Parade is having the theme "Indepen danse". It will be this coming September 17 and it would be one "noisy" day.

This year's Techno Parade features the roots of the said event. DJs will give tribute to the people (and their music) who started Techno Parade. So who to expect for this year's Techno Parade? www.parisvoice.com tells us:

Tunisia will be the guest of honor. Bob Sinclar, a world renowned French DJ, will head the impressive line of DJs pumping the blood of high-octane dance music through the veins of electro-music fans, just as he did at the first parade 12 years ago.

But he won’t be the only famous DJ.
DJs such as David Guetta, Mark Knight, DJ Ufuk and Django are slated to play amongst the 20 floats carrying 150 musicians, DJs and performers from all over France. The popular music-streaming providers, Deezer and FG DJ Radio are among the many floats participating in the parade. The Deezer float will showcase the talents of Rodriguez JR, Mr. Statik and Dance Disorder. On the FG DJ Radio float, Alex Gaudino, Bingo Players, Michel Conitrot, Paulette, Yves Larock, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike will headline. Tunisia will also be represented on the "Sound of Cartage" float, spinning the sounds of freedom with homegrown Tunisian DJs, Wael B, Zoux, Waverform and Selim B.

So what are you waiting for? Book a Paris accommodation now and make sure you won't miss this event. There are a lot of apartments in St. Germain that you can book in case you want to stay in Paris for Techno Parade. Or if you find that St. Germain is too far from all the hustle and bustle, try to look for Paris apartments near the place.

Paris. It is an undeniably beautiful city. It's beauty is known worldwide that people would just love to come and visit Paris.

A lot of people have visited the place, no doubt. People from different ends of the world. People from different walks of life. They either come in groups - like families and/or friends, organizations, travel groups. Some come individually. But most of the people you see visiting around Paris comes in pairs (check that... I just got Paris and pairs mixed up! That's just such a cool coincident.).

Paris is mostly visited by lovers. Most of them are in their honeymoon, or probably celebrating their anniversary on a travel together. And maybe these lot of lovers are coming to Paris to justify the claim that Paris is the 'City of Love'. But how come Paris was called such?

There's no exact scientific or historic explanation for that. It's not like the city was built intentionally for lovers or that it is a place with the gravity pulling in the lovers towards it. No. There's really not a lot of formal and proven explanation. But if your instincts are telling you something why Paris is the City of Love, then you ought to believe it.

Many people believe that Paris is called as such because of its beauty. Look at Paris and everything around it. It's simply beautiful. With the sceneries and lights (by the night), undoubtedly the city would be mostly visited by lovers who would love to enjoy such view.Just imagine the Eiffel Tower itself. It already is a perfect epitome of how beauty resonates in the city.

Another thing, the architecture in Paris tells a lot of story and conviction on the strength and beauty of Paris' history. Museums depict lovely paintings and the best of the arts. Here, coincidentally, you can find the sculpture named The Kiss. Just simply romantic.

So if you want to visit Paris, make sure your Paris accommodation would be as romantic as possible. How about a lovely and cozy Paris vacation rental in Eiffel? It would surely be one lovely stay in your Paris apartment. But not only that, it would be one romantic experience touring around the City of Love.

Champs-Elysées: A Champ for Tourists

Our Paris accommodations are situated in a way that we are near the best and most beautiful places to visit in the city. It is made such to make it accessible to our customers and make them feel that we are making it convenient for them to travel around the city from where they are staying. No doubt that we place more than 6 of our Paris apartments in Champs Elysees.

But this blog isn't about our accommodations, nor anything related to it. This is, however, about the place and what's in store for you in one of the classiest, most elegant, and brightest parts in Paris - Champs Elysees.

Avenue des Champs Elysees is one of the most extravagant places in Paris. One of the most famous streets in the world, Champs Elysees have a strip of luxurious shops, restaurants, shopping centers, cinemas among others. The place is also famous for high rents on Paris apartments and cost of living. Living in Champs Elysees is no joke. Although the place may seem like exclusive for the elite only, but others can come and visit whenever they want - especially if it's just a once-in-a-lifetime tour experience.

So what's in store for you in Champs Elysees?

There are actually a lot of beautiful sights in Champs Elysees. There, you could find the Grand Palais, a museum with metallic halls and stone facade housing many of the most famous arts and designs collections and other art exhibits there is.

You could also find the Arc de Triomphe, an arc built in 1806 in memory of the French army as ordered by Napoleon. Aside from these two, you could also go and visit other museums such as the Petit Palais and Musee Galliera de la Mode de Paris, and one of the famous bridges, the Pont Alexandre III.

There are also a lot of parks and gardens and town squares. These are best for people who would love to stroll around the place and enjoy a beautiful sight or scene. You can go to Parc Monceau or the Igor Stravinsky Square.

Going to the place is not that bad at all. It wouldn't really require a huge slice of your budget if you just know where to go. If you got some extra cash, you can shop a little but not too much. After all, traveling is not about how much you spent but on how much experience you've gathered.

If you want more info about Champs Elysees, here are some few facts.

Paris at Night

There's no place in the world that's not up at night. Gasoline stations, hospitals, drugstores, 24-hour convenience stores - they're everywhere and they're in every part of the world. And even in the wee hours, they could be wide awake.

A nightlife, so to speak, is what everybody somehow want and need. Maybe some have a so-called "nightlife" because they need to work, but some just wants to have fun.

Not all travelers would really prefer a nightlife. Besides, most sceneries are best seen during the day. Only a few of them are beautiful at night (not that nothing is best viewed at night; the Eiffel Tower is one of the best sceneries at night).  But that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy Paris at night.

There are various places wherein you can have a taste of nightlife in Paris. For one, there are clubs and bars open all night for those who loves music, some beer or wine, and some good company. Others are spacious enough for you to dance around with friends, some have couches where you can sit, talk, and laugh in a company and just experience a good time.

A lot of people come to Paris and experience this kind of life. Although they could experience it anywhere in the world, even their hometowns, it's always different in Paris. The wine tastes better, the people are merrier, the music is louder... it's almost as if you're in total party heaven. That's why, although it's one of the most common 'attractions' so to speak, a club or a bar is still one place tourists often visit.

However, this perfect little gig in Paris during the night time is not that perfect just yet. Other people still find a bit of a dilemma with this kind of trip. TEENS. They have problems in doing this because: 1) they're under-aged, and 2) only a few bars would allow teens below 18 to come in.

Fear not, young fellows. You can still enjoy this kind of life in Paris. Although a bit scarce, a few clubs in Paris allows teens from 16 years onwards to come in. These clubs are not that intense anyway. They don't serve the hard drinks (beer and wine would do), no overly vulgar people and actions. It's just simply a place to relax, have good music and dance with it, and be with friends.

Just to be safe dear young fellows, make sure that your Paris accommodation is not that far from the place. There are a lot of apartments in Paris in Le Marais which have these kinds of clubs. You could stay there.

For more info, here's a link of the top 10 clubs and rental in Paris which you can go to and have a great time. With that we bid you... Good night!

What Not To Do: A Little List You Should Have When Going to Paris

Let's say you break the news that you are going to Paris. Assuming that everybody who knows about it gets pretty psyched and excited about it, they all tell you the MUSTS in travelling Paris. Where to stay, where to go, what to eat, and oh! WHAT TO DO.

But only a few would tell you that sometimes enjoying the travel is not about doing, eating, staying at the BEST. Sometimes, knowing what's WORST would give you the best travel there is. Maybe telling you WHAT NOT TO DO would be the best advice.

So here, although we give you the best Paris accommodations, we think it wouldn't harm you if we'll tell you WHAT NOT TO DO. Of course we'll still tell you to where best to find Paris vacation rentals in St. Germain and whether or not these Paris apartments are worth it. BUT as of now... let's talk about the NOTs in your Paris vacation.

You surely could find lots of articles about this on the internet. As we've gone through our research, there are seriously A LOT of them. So to make it easier for you, we gathered everything we could gather and trimmed it down to the top 5 that we thing you shouldn't really do. So here are our top 5 What Not To Do in Paris.

  • Don't Take a Da Vinci Code Tour
  • I would have to agree with this one. It is expensive and it is quite a waste of time in a day going around and touring about a famous novel you were so engrossed on only to find out (and be disappointed) that Dan Brown has poorly depicted Paris. (Sorry fans… but it’s just true.)
Cabs are difficult to find in Paris. Plus, you can’t just extend out your hand from anywhere to hail the cab. You would need to book them first or wait at the designated taxi stops. Paris is a city made for walking. There are a lot of beautiful sceneries to witness by just walking. Experience Paris the way it was designed for. Take a stroll and you’ll see the wonders that are made out of this beautiful city.
While Paris was known for fashion but it doesn’t mean you need to shop at the most popular and most expensive place. You’ll just be wasting lots of money in shopping shoes that are expensive because they are too branded. Why not try and shop at the local stores? It would be worth it!
The Eiffel Tower is such a beauty. It’s one of the highlights and most celebrated infrastructures in Paris. But you know what makes this tower beautiful? It’s its presence on the skyline and the lights that glimmer around it. The point? It is made to be looked at and seen from afar and not on it. Getting to the Eiffel Tower would take long lines and long queues. So why not stay grounded and appreciate the tower on its best view?
We all want to save up. We all want to find the cheapest in everything – but please, not your hotel rooms. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you would need to book somewhere classy and expensive; it’s just going to rob you out. You can look for affordable hotels but never ever sacrifice the ambience and quality of service in choosing your hotel. Make sure it’s well-furnish and that all amenities are functioning well. You might be spending an extra compared to ‘cheapest’ hotels, but you would definitely get the best of it.

Loving Louvre

It is, without any question, one of the most beautiful museum there is in the world. It is architecturally perfect. It is, in all means, a perfect example of beauty. Something as popular and as most visited as this museum, you could never go wrong once you decide to visit. Louvre Museum/Musee de Louvre or simple... The Louvre. One of Paris' loveliest thrones of art. And if they said Paris was a place for love and lovers... then Louvre is simply one of the best loved to be visited by lovers.

This historic landmark, which stood (and still standing) in the heart of Paris since 1793, has housed previous leaders like Francois I and the Sun King, Louis XIV. It is housed in the Louvre Palace - a palace that was built little by little in every new leader in France.

This 652,300 square feet contains 35,000 works of art even from the pre-historic times. The Louvre opened in August 10, 1793, with 537 painting exhibits. Although it was closed during 1796 to 1801, it has collected more and more collections during Napoleon's time.

Surrounded with a lot of apartments in Paris, the Louvre is easily and mostly visited by the foreigners and locals alike. That's why, to date, this has been one of the most visited museums in the world. With its art collection growing and growing by the day, the Louvre has matured itself in a sense of art exhibits and as a living archive of art and history.

Currently, the Louvre features collections such as Egyptian antiquities, Near Eastern antiquities, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman antiquities, Islamic art, sculptures, decorative arts, paintings, prints and drawings. Its location is pretty much easy to locate since it is at the center of Paris on the Right Bank. It is also near to fastfood chains, shopping malls, and the Carousel de Louvre.

So if you like to come and see the beauty and art of the Louvre Museum, there are a lots of Paris vacation rentals in Louvre. For sure you'll be satisfied with the service and it would be a justifiable value for your money. Just book a Paris rental in Louvre and be nearer to the museum's beauty. The more accessible, the better.

And just a tip, cameras are ALLOWED, but you should use it WITHOUT FLASH.

Magnifique Vins: Wine Tasting in Paris

So you're planning to take a short visit in Paris. Probably 4-6 days. Just because you want to see its beauty, feel its culture, and whatever good the place could give you. Pretty easy.

But you're too confused on what to do for your itinerary. What would you do for 4-6 days? Aside from the usual sight-seeing of all the wonders in Paris, what else is there that Paris could offer? Well... if you're up for wines, then there's something you might want to try.

If there's one thing fun to do in Paris, it's wine tasting. Paris is known for its rich wine culture and business and are really great in producing the finest wines there is. So it's no question that wine tasting is a popular tourist (and even for the locals) attractions and must-do in the city.

There are a lot of wineries, wine connoisseurs, and wine cellars in Paris. These are, most of the time, open for the public who would want to join them in wine tasting. So whether you are a wine expert or just merely a fan of wines, you would enjoy all wine tasting activities Paris has to offer.

Other wineries would offer you wine tasting of 3 special wines for three hours. This goes with some bread and snacks, of course, perfect for that fine-tasting wine. Aside from this, there would also be an introduction on the best practices on wine tasting. This could probably be the choice of the novice or to those who just wants to experience wine tasting and not spend too much time on it (like for tight itineraries for example).

Another one tasting experience you could try is an hour-and-a-half wine tasting of 5 fine wines with cheese, bread, and charcuterie. This would probably interest future chefs and those who are into fine dining more than any other activity since this discusses the best types of food to pair with different kinds of wines.

Lastly, there's this wine tasting experience for the experts and masters of such "art." For two hours, you got to taste six French wines (still with the breads, and cheeses, and the likes) plus a deeper, more in-depth understanding of wine pairing, where to find the finest and tastiest grapes in France, and a lot of tips on the use of wines.

With all these given activities, a wine enthusiast would surely want to be in Paris. The best wines in Paris are found in Louvre. So if you want to visit there, make sure to book your vacation rentals in Paris in advance. There are a lot of vacation rentals in Louvre that are just near the wineries. If you happened to book a Paris vacation rentals in Louvre, then you would have the nearest access to the fine wineries and the latest happenings on wine tasting are just within your reach.

Paris' Groovy Fete

June is here... and you know what this means! It means that a series of festivals are going to happen in Paris. A series of festival usually happens every week of June in Paris. This makes one festive time of the year for the city. It's the time of the year where they would be lots of crowd, food, partying, life, and music.

Speaking of music, it's probably one of the things that keep the French people going. Of course it does to lots of people. Music embodies a great part in life and culture. Everyone would probably love to celebrate music in a day. Thus, Paris often has this festival of music or most popularly called as Fete de la Musique.

Fete de la Musique launched in June 21, 1982 during the summer solstice. It was when Maurice Fleuret, the Director of Music and Dance back then, thought of bringing people in the street just creating music anywhere. From that day on, French's festival of music has become widely known in the world. Others even celebrate it in their respective countries themselves. Want proof? Here's something we quote from a good source:

Though the European dimension remains the most visible one, now that Berlin, Budapest, Barcelona, Istanbul, Liverpool, Luxemburg, Rome, Naples, Prague and the French Community of Belgium, Santa Maria da Feira have signed the « Charter of the partners of the European Festival of Music », the Fête has also taken root in San Francisco, in New York this year, in Manila, and has practically become the national feast in many African countries, not to mention Brazil and Colombia. - The Spirit of La Fete.

So we suggest that if you're going to Paris, France this June, please do witness Fete de la Musique It would be one experience you wouldn't regret. Since the party is literally EVERYWHERE, you can start from where it is nearest to you. You can either look at the schedule and choose a specific gig to attend to. Or you can wander around gig-hopping to have a more in-depth experience on the Fete.

Go book an a vacation rental in Paris now to make sure you'll be there on this great festival of music. There are Paris accommodations in Marais that are really clean and affordable and are near some highlighted venues of the festival. And if you're lucky to grab a great rental in Paris, you might just get a great deal of discount/perks if you book ahead. So book them now and anticipate for a fun and enjoyable festival of music in Paris, France.

26.5.11

Backpacking in Paris

Everybody dreams to have that dreamy, fancy travel. We think of fancy and grand hotel rooms with the perfect room service. We imagine a hassle-free, booked transportation that would take us from one point to another and around the city. We imagine front-row seats, VIP passes, and other perks. Who wouldn't love that?

But then, having this all fancy travel is also twice as costly. Just think of how much all those would cost! It would surely cost you a fortune and even more. So, we usually scrap that mentality out and just think that maybe... all we need is a simple travel. Maybe someday we can achieve that dream travel or maybe it would just stay as a dream.

That's why these days (and even way before) backpacking has been a great and ideal way to travel. It's cheaper and it's faster. everything would be worth it if you really know how to look for a good time.

There are a lot of key factors to consider if you are a backpacker. It's not easy, but certainly it's not impossible. But compared to the all-pampered-up kind of travel, backpacking requires work - and a lot of it.

For one, you need to look for the a convenient mode of transportation that isn't too expensive. As long as public transportation (trains, railways, buses) are available, this wouldn't be a problem. Maybe a bit on getting a train ticket or something, but the rest should go smoothly.

Another factor (and probably this is key) is your accommodation. There are a lot of available accommodations in Paris that you could stay even just for a night. For example, there are these vacation rentals in Saint Germain (a part in Paris) that is affordable enough and with good service. This accommodation in Paris Saint Germain is just one of the many examples of best place to rest for backpackers.

Say Goodbye to Travel Headaches by Booking Ahead

Going on travels could be pretty hectic and be lots of headache. Traveling requires a lot of work, attention, details, and (of course) expenses. But we’re not here to talk and blab about discouraging you to travel – no, we won’t. We love for you to travel, of course. It’s just that we want to let you see the truth in traveling and hoping that we could give a remedy to it.

So when you travel, there are really a lot of things to consider. Accommodation, airplane tickets, train tickets, dining, travel route, transportation, etc. There are literally A LOT of them. But you could always deal with them one at a time, making sure that none of them gets forgotten or taken for granted.

True to almost everything, the first thing to always do is make a list. Make a list of everything you need and you need to take care of. Also take note of the budget at hand. It would always be best to plan for your travel a year ahead. Yes, yes, maybe a year is too much… but it’s the safest timeline you could have. Aside from booking earlier, you could also budget and save more when you plan ahead.

Booking everything you need in advance is really important and money savvy too. You could easily find discounts and promos if you book ahead. Take airline tickets, for example. They have these promo fares all year round… but look at the dates! The flight dates are always months (and even a year) later than the sale period. So take advantage of that. Book a flight and take the latest date so that you’ll have more time to deal and book with other things you need.

So let’s say you have booked your flight already… and let’s say you booked it 9-12 months earlier from your expected travel date. The next thing to book is your accommodation. Do you like it cheap? Do you like it to be nearest to the airport or your favorite tourist spot? Do you like it to be the best in the city? Search. Ask. There are lots of sources of information. And when you made a decision, make sure to book them earlier too. A lot of these accommodations really give discounts to those who book early.

Flights and accommodations are the most important and basic things to book. But don’t forget, you still need other things. Maybe train tickets or renting a car. You can always ask your chosen accommodation or chosen airlines if they have such services or if they could book one for you.

So you see? There really is a lot of preparation required for a travel. To make it easy for you… and that is if you’re traveling around Paris, we found some perfect vacation rentals in Paris. Why don't you take a look at this Paris vacation rentals in Louvre? You can also check out other great and affordable Paris apartments in Louvre too.
